How to use a hair pin

How to use a hair pin

Hello! I’ve had so many new customers come to my site looking for hairpins after this post on TikTok from the sweet, @lexiluallen. You can watch her unboxing HERE if you haven’t seen it already :)

So, what is a hair pin? How do you use one? Once again, I will direct you to @lexiluallen because she has some great videos of putting her hair up. I will get to make some soon too. But, here I added a quick how-to video

First off I will say you can go ahead and put your hair up with a hair tie as you normally would, and then just add the hair pin for extra hold and excellent style.

If you would like to put up your bun:

-gather your hair in a ponytail, (can be done high or low)

-hold the base of the ponytail at the scalp and twist the length of it with your other hand

-twist this again onto itself to create a bun a the scalp (not too tight)

-kind of fold up the bottom area over the top and slide the hair pin in to secure

About my hair pins -

I obviously prefer my pins because they are handmade unique and sustainable. I’m just not into plastic, mass manufactured stuff that will break.

A brass hair fork/pin that is a durable, reusable, and convenient tool for creating a variety of hair styles. This pin will hold a full bun and a half-up half-down hair style in most hair types.

If you have a question about which may suit you best, just send me a message and I can help you find the right fit.

Brass and Copper will patina over time. I have not done any chemical treatment to the pins to keep that from happening. If you would like the pin to shine up quickly, you may buff the piece with steel wool.
